The lens is decent, but I rarely use it… The battery usually lasts for hours and I rarely have it go out during shooting. And a special note about the remote: I actually do not know if it is compactable with this camera because it is from my HDR-HC5 and I have never tried it with my HDR-HC1 (I kind of edited the remote into this video by accident).
